History of the Crease Monkeys

"For the Love of the Game"

  • The ‘Crease Monkeys’ were formed in April of 1998 to promote the sport of lacrosse by bringing together players from across the U.S. & overseas to play in lacrosse tournaments and provide instructional clinics. The team has played and won tournaments around the world: including in Amsterdam, Australia, Hawai'i, Chicago and New Orleans (Mardi Gras).
  • Team Motto: “Great Times, Great Friends, Great Places & Great Lacrosse
  • Current & former ‘Monkeys’ include some of the sport’s elite players: World Team members from the U.S.A., Canada and, the Iroquois Nation-> to College All Americans to Professional All Stars.
    • Five (5) Members of the 2006 US World Team and Five (5) Members of the 2006 Canadian World Team are Monkeys
  • The team’s 2006 Tour Schedule includes a number of tournaments and lacrosse 'Ambassador' efforts including: Japan, World Games, Lake Placid and, a return to the ‘Monkeys’ favorite tourney in Hawai'i.
  • The website of Crease Monkeys Lacrosse (www.creasemonkeys.com) went live on 08-20-1999
    • Current visitor count is rapidly approaching 1,000,000
    • It was called the “World’s Best Club Lacrosse Website” by Lacrosse Talk Magazine (UK’s official lacrosse magazine)
  • The ‘Monkeys’ have been featured in Lacrosse Magazine, Lacrosse Talk Magazine, Inside Lacrosse & on many lacrosse websites including e-Lacrosse.com & InsideLacrosse.com
